My Day
I am really slipping up on posting on my blog. I just haven't been in much of a blogging mood this week. I do not know why but that is just how it is.
I have three new recipes I want to try next week. I will let you know what happens with them.
I also have a hard back crocheting pattern book that I will be giving away. As soon as I can get pictures taken and posted I will be doing a post for the give away.
Talk to you soon.

Great Saturday
Well, my vacation is coming to a close but it has sure been a great one. All good things must come to an end right?
My mom and I went to Mighty Dollar in Somerset today. I love this store. They have lots of neat stuff plus loads of great scrapbooking items. Everything is just $1 each so that helps me love it more. Below is just some of the things I bought today.
First off, I will start with the scrapbooking items. Remember, $1.00 each!
Next, how do ya like my little silverware dish drainer. Isn't it just the cutest thing?
And of course I can't go anywhere unless I buy paper and/or pencil. So, I bought some book markers for the girls in Sunday School class, some post-it tags, and some colored index cards.
We then went to visit my bnl at the Lake Cumberland Flea Market. He makes one great glass of lemonade if your ever over that way. As you can see, I drank all of mine.
The fresh pork rinds were very good and fresh also. (No carbs!)
Going to the Flea Market was so much more fun having the great escort that we had. This is my new niece. (I need to come up with a nick name for her. She calls my husband Goofy Goober. lol) She is so sweet and loves to give everyone hugs.
Back at home, I have finished the baby afghan. It will going to it's new home this afternoon to a beautiful baby girl.
I have started on something for me now. A crocheted bag to keep my projects in that I am working on so I can either take them with me or take it from room to room. I got this pattern from attic24.
I am also trying my hand at making bracelets. These are my first ones but the black one I am not satisfied with so I will be redoing it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

On Vacation!
Yep, that's us. We are on vacation this week. What have we been up to you say? Well, let's see. I am still trying to get over this bronchitis, this stuff is never gonna leave! Since Saturday I have pretty much just been putting garden stuff up.
I failed to get a picture of the head of cabbage that I made my sauerkraut with. This is another head from my dad's garden. The one I made sauerkraut with weighed 8 lb. It was a big sucker!
The head of cabbage turned into this! Sauerkraut.
I have been putting corn in the freezer also. I have cut some off and put some in the freezer on the cob.
And canned green beans. This is only a few of the jars. Ok hubby, they are ready to be carried out!
And what has hubby been doing during this time?
Just painting, and painting, and painting. He did such a great job!
I think I am done with corn and beans until next year. Today is a day of rest. Me, my mom and sissy are going to go shopping and eat out. We deserve a break for all this hard work!
Have a great day!

My Day!
Me, hubby, kids and dl was supposed to go on a day trip to TN today. Well.....this trip was just not meant to be. My car has been not running good for a while now and Friday it just was awful! My pastor worked on it for me Friday and had it running better so hubby was going to finish it when he got in from work on Friday afternoon.
It wouldn't have taken him very long to finish it but since he had to unexpectly work 19 1/2 hours Friday, yes you heard me right, getting home at 3:30 in the morning didn't exactly give him any time to get this done.
Anyway, sissy said she would drive me since I wasn't feeling well in her car so we could still go.
I woke up early this morning to get myself ready. The longer I was up the worse I felt so I just went and told sissy I just didn't think I could do it. Sissy said that was fine because after waking up she realized that she had an eye infection anyway. Could anything else have gone wrong?
I just went and laid on the couch so I wouldn't bother hubby and just dozed on and off. I haven't even been to the grocery store yet and that is just not me! Surely to goodness I will be feeling better by tomorrow!!

Sick Today
Edited: I have a viral bronchitis. How lovely.
I have been sick since Wednesday, and since my vacation starts tomorrow, and since I woke up this morning feeling much worse, I guess I had better break down and go to the doctor. I sure do not want to be sick on vacation! I was blessed to get an appointment early this morning so off I go.
Talk to you all soon!

Our First Cake!
In case you haven't heard, my sister and I are taking cake decorating classes together. This is something I have always wanted to do so I have been excited.
Below is a picture of my first cake that I decorated. Now, although I know this will never be shown on Cake Boss, I am proud of both of our cakes. Just having these shown on my blog is good enough for me.
Our first cake to decorate was the Rainbow Cake. Not bad for first timers huh?
This is my sisters cake. Pretty good huh?
I would have had more pictures but the room we are taking this class in has standing room only. Someone has to move just so you can get out of your chair.
Next week is the clown cake. I don't know about this. Looks very hard!

Back to Work!
Not much time to post here lately nor try new recipes. I have been canning beans this past weekend and sauerkraut. I have more beans to do today. I love stringing and breaking the beans I just don't like the canning part but oh well. lol
I go for my second cake decorating class tonight. I am really excited but this has run into more expense than I had origanlly thought it would. My cake is baked so as soon as sissy wakes up I will fix my icing so I can get it on my cake and then make extra to take tonight for the decorating part. I am a little nervous since I had such a horrible dream about this class the other night. (lol) I sure hope this dream doesn't come true! lol
Gotta go get dressed and get my day started. Hope everyone has a great one!

Busy, Busy
For some reason lately I cannot even get time to post on my own blog much less read other peoples blogs, which I love to do. Someone is sneaking in my home and stealing my time!!!
I have made the Easy Sunday Chicken Supper several times and we love it. Just fix a salad or cole slaw and some bread and you have your meal. I hope you enjoy it.
I have to book it this morning. I need to get my jars washed before I go to work since I will have a bushel of green beans waiting on me when I get home from work to string, break and can. I LOVE stringing and breaking beans. The canning part I could do without. lol

Hump Day Chatter
Yes, it is not only hump day but church night also which means it will be a busy day! For some reason last night, I still had lots of energy (this never happens) and was not sleepy at bedtime. I sure didn't feel that way this morning though when my hubby woke me up to tell me it was time to get up. lol
So, since I do not have much to blog about today I decided to do something different. I have saw different versions on other ladies blogs so I will do something similar just to have something to post. Sad isn't it?
What am I looking forward to today?
Church service tonight. I am going to be teaching the girls in Gem club since their regular teacher will be out of town.
What book am I reading?
The Bible. I have been reading the Foxfire series.
On the menu for tonight?
Sissy has asked for me to fix vegetable soup so, vegetable soup it is.
In the craft basket?
A baby afghan for a friend at church and...
A dog afghan. I had nothing to crochet one day and wanted to crochet something using my leftover yarn.
Crafts I have procrastinated on:
The above apron which I started several weeks ago but have not had the time to work on it anymore. With my mother's help, maybe I can learn to sew!!
I am determined to work on this cardmaker kit this weekend!
My goal for this week:
To begin my exercises again and stick with it this time!
Lesson Learned This Week:
To talk less and listen more.
